Clean living is daunting task to take on. There are so many aspects to consider; food, personal care products, environment. Obviously, we can’t control the environment. But it’s important to control and what we consume and put on our bodies.
Clean Living Journey
As I mention in this post’s title, this is going to be a series. Today, I’ll touch on the basics of what clean living means. It’s essentially skipping as many chemicals as you can. Notice I didn’t say ALL. That’s because it’s pretty difficult to eliminate all chemicals in our daily lives. Lifestyle changes shouldn’t cause stress. Anything that’s stressful ends up not happening.
Just like any other lifestyle change, it’s easy to get overwhelmed when starting because there is so much information available. To avoid this, make changes one step at a time. Instead of clearing out your entire bathroom at once, start with the products you use most often. There also may be some items that you just can’t do without. And that is okay. For example, I won’t budge on hair color. I MUST color my hair every two weeks. Obviously, whether or not you change something is up to you. The key is to make changes for the better. It doesn’t matter how long it takes. We are a work in progress.
To get you started, here’s a list of ingredients to consider eliminating from your personal care products: parabens, fragrance, formaldehyde, phthalates. Keep in mind, this is not an all-inclusive list.
