Motivation is defined in Merriam-Webster as the act or process of giving someone a reason for doing something. We hear or deal with motivation practically everyday. Whether it’s quotes, pictures, vision board, etc., motivation can be found almost anywhere. It’s all a matter of what motivates YOU. Some people are motivated by money, others by setting goals. Some may need a life-defining moment to get them in gear.
I like to think of motivation as the “force” that will get you to do what you need to do. Therefore, motivation is taken advantage of on a daily basis. This is because we, as human beings, need to have a reason as to why we do things. It can be as simple as going to work to get a paycheck. Or it can be as great as having a goal to do a great good; to make a mark in the world. Whatever motivates an individual varies from one person to the next. To get the “right” kind of motivation requires YOU to know WHY you need to complete said activity. How big is your reason? One person can know they need to lose weight, but may not get around to it because they have not yet been hit with a big enough reason. Or any other person may “know” they need to get a new job or become successful at their business, but until something big enough happens, they may stay at the status quo.
Bottom line is, you’ll want to analyze yourself. Once you find what it is you TRULY want, you’ll find a way to get there. Often, an external nudge can get you on the way to figure this out. Sometimes that nudge comes in the shape of a quote or someone having reached their own goals. Once you see or hear that it CAN be done, you may decide now is the time. We you find what motivates you, you can become unstoppable! This is one of the reason I love quotes. They are always little reminders that anything is possible.
What motivates you the most?
